Homelessness in Australia
Homelessness has risen 14% in the last five years, with over 116,000 people currently living without a permanent home across Australia, according to the ABS. The Vinnies CEO Sleepout is a one-night event over one of the longest and coldest nights of the year. Hundreds of CEOs, including Reventon CEO Chris Christofi, and community and government leaders sleep outdoors to support the many Australians who are experiencing homelessness.
Helping everyday Australians
Chris founded Reventon with a vision of helping everyday Australians achieve their dream of owning a home and flourishing financially, and was shocked and saddened to learn how many people sleep on our streets without a roof over their heads. Inspired to make a real difference, Chris took up the CEO Sleepout challenge with his usual passion and energy.
In his inaugural Sleepout, Chris raised $35,632 of his $40,000 target through the support of friends, family and business contacts, making him the third largest fundraiser in Victoria; a massive achievement!
“It was a humbling experience to take part in this important annual event for the first time and meet with other CEO’s equally committed to making a difference. It’s essential that we never succumb to the error of believing that homelessness is a just an outcome, or something that’s deserved,” says Chris.
Chris would love to reach his fundraising goal and help as many people as possible. If you are able to support this effort in any small way, please donate here.
